Welcoming the New Year

Posted by: Helena Lindorff1st January, 2007

We welcomed the New Year at Justin and Naomi’s place in Coburg. We had a lovely BBQ, with chicken and kangaroo thigh on the menu. I managed to stay up til midnight which is a struggle to do now days, especially when the alarm clock can go off anytime between 7 – 8am in the morning, calling out mummy and daddy every 5 seconds. This time the alarm clock, being Charlotte not Bethany woke me up at 6.30am. Waking up early after a late night felt like I had a serious hangover. Charlotte discovered the drums at Naomi and Justin’s place. Naomi gave her some lessons.

On New Years day, the Lindorff clan all met up at the Burrumbete Races, just outside of Ballarat. The girls (Charlotte, Lillian, Alison and Chloe) had fun visiting the animal farm and going on horse rides, a first for Charlotte. We thought she would start crying but she was laughing non-stop. Aunty Claire held her throughout the whole lap. Luckily she had her horse ride when she did, because a few minutes later the heavens opened up giving us a heavy down pour. We all got saturated. Something that Charlotte hasn’t experienced before. Poor Bethany got wet too, despite having the blanket draped infront of the pram.

Hi Helena, Chris, Charlotte and Bethany

I have just had a chance to log onto the computer and look over your site again. Its been so long between my last look, which might have been before I left work for maternity leave, so I spent some time loook over your pre birth and Christmas enteries as well. You have such a lovely family.

Jessica turned 3 weeks yerestday – I am not sure where the time goes, but it also strangely seems as though she has always been there and justfitted right into our home. Mick is absolutely besotted by Jessica, and she kows how to smile her way into his arms at her want.

Mick goes back to work next week, after being off since early December for us to spend some time togetehr before Jessica arrived. I hardly remeber what it was like when we both had to get up and go off to work, and now the day has arrived when Mick will start leaving Jessica and I for most of the day  I know we will find it hard to get used to, he is such a big help at home and we have all settled in nicely to our ‘at home’ lifestyle.

I must look at starting a similar site to aloow me to keep our famjily and friends up to date with Jessica’s stories and moments.

I will send through some more photos of her soon.

We look forward to catching up nwith you all soon and getting to meet Bethny.

Take care

Pamela
